Example project · Plumbing Example · not a specific client

Only 9 of 43 pages were in Google

Example: a plumbing company had built a page for every service and town, but most never showed up in Google. A theme setting blocked some pages, others were near-duplicates, and the site map listed hundreds of junk pages. We cleaned up the index, rewrote the duplicates, fixed internal links and resubmitted. Most pages were indexed within a few weeks.

Technical problems we solve

Good content can't rank on a broken base.

Most contractor sites have the same three technical problems. None of them are visible to the owner, and all of them stop service pages from ranking.

01

Google can't see the right pages

Service pages blocked by a setting, duplicate town pages, or hundreds of tag, attachment and test pages in the index all confuse Google about what to rank.

What we do: an index cleanup in Search Console, a clean site map and one strong page per service and town.

02

The site is slow on phones

Page builders, big images, sliders and chat widgets make many contractor sites slow on mobile, where most emergency searches happen.

What we do: Core Web Vitals fixes for loading, interactivity and layout shifts, tested on real phones.

03

A redesign wiped out rankings

New site, new URLs, no redirects. It's the most common way contractors lose years of rankings overnight.

What we do: a URL map and redirect plan before any redesign or move, then daily checks for weeks after launch.

What's included

The technical work behind every ranking.

We find the problems, fix them, and keep watching so new ones don't creep in after updates or new pages.

What usually goes wrong

The technical issues we fix most.

These show up on almost every contractor site we check, and each one quietly costs rankings and calls.

The problem

Hundreds of tag, attachment and test pages are indexed, while service pages aren't.

Our fix

Junk pages removed from the index, service pages linked and resubmitted.

The problem

Town pages are copies with only the city name changed, so Google ignores most of them.

Our fix

Each town page rewritten with real local details, or merged where it doesn't add value.

The problem

The site scores poorly on mobile speed because of sliders, big images and heavy plugins.

Our fix

Images compressed, scripts deferred, sliders removed and caching set up, checked on real phones.

The problem

A new site launched without redirects, and rankings dropped overnight.

Our fix

Old URLs mapped to new ones, redirects added and Search Console watched until rankings recover.

How we measure success

Four numbers. Every month.

We track index coverage, Core Web Vitals and crawl errors in Search Console alongside rankings, calls and forms, so you can see the technical work turn into traffic and leads. You get a short summary every month, and a heads-up the same day if something breaks.

☎

Calls

Tracked numbers on your site, profile and ads, with source, duration and recordings, so you can see which calls became jobs.

✉

Forms

Every quote request and booking form, tagged by the page and the search that brought it in.

⌖

Map rank per area

A grid of ranking points across your service area, so you see the towns where you win and the ones still missing.

$

Cost per lead

What you spend divided by real leads, by channel. The number that tells you where the next dollar goes.

Questions

Technical SEO questions.

Something else on your mind? Send a message and we'll reply within one business day.

What is technical SEO?

It's the work that makes a website easy for Google to find, read and trust: indexing, speed, mobile, site structure, schema and redirects. Content and links can't rank well on a site with technical problems.

How is technical SEO different from an SEO audit?

An audit finds and ranks the problems. Technical SEO is the work of fixing them and keeping them fixed. Many clients start with the audit, then hand us the technical fixes.

Do Core Web Vitals really matter?

They're one of many ranking signals, so they rarely make or break rankings on their own. They matter more for calls: a slow, jumpy page on a phone loses people before they tap the call button.

Will a redesign hurt my rankings?

It can if URLs change without redirects or pages get dropped. With a URL map, redirects and checks after launch, a redesign usually keeps rankings and often improves them.

Do I need schema markup?

It helps. Schema tells Google and AI tools your business type, services, service area and FAQs in a format they read reliably. It doesn't guarantee rich results, but it removes guesswork.

Can you work on any website platform?

We work mostly with WordPress, and also with other common platforms. Some fixes depend on what the platform allows; we'll tell you up front if anything isn't possible.

How long until technical fixes show results?

Indexing and speed fixes are often visible in Search Console within a few weeks. Ranking and call changes usually follow over the next one to three months.
