  • Technical check: speed, mobile, indexing, schema and redirects
  • Page-by-page review of services, towns and calls to action
  • Google Business Profile, reviews and listings compared with the top 3 on Maps

One indexing bug was hiding the money pages

Example: a roofing company had good reviews and a nice-looking site, but its repair and replacement pages never showed in Google. The audit found a setting that told Google to skip them, plus slow mobile pages and a profile listing the wrong service area. Fixing the top five items took two weeks.

What an SEO audit looks at

Three places calls get lost.

Most home service sites don't have one big problem. They have a dozen small ones spread across the website, the Google profile and the listings. The audit looks at all three together, because Google does.

01

The website

Slow mobile pages, services hidden on one long page, pages Google can't index, missing schema and weak calls to action all cut calls before anyone reads a word.

What we do: a technical crawl plus a page-by-page review of every service and town page, checked in Search Console.

02

The Google profile

For most trades, the Maps pack brings more calls than the website. Wrong categories, thin services, few recent reviews or no photos push you below competitors.

What we do: a full profile review against the top 3 businesses showing on Maps for your main searches.

03

Listings and links

Different names, phones or addresses across directories confuse Google about who you are. Few local links make it harder to rank in competitive towns.

What we do: a listings consistency check and a backlink review, with a short list of local sites worth getting on.

What's included

Everything checked, in one report.

One audit covers the site, the profile, the listings and the competition, and ends with a plan in the order that brings calls soonest.

What audits usually find

The problems we see most often.

Almost every contractor site we check has some of these. Each one shows up in the report with what it costs and how to fix it.

The problem

Main service pages aren't indexed, or Google indexes a test or duplicate version instead.

Our fix

Find the cause in Search Console, fix the settings or redirects, and resubmit the right pages.

The problem

All services sit on one page, so nothing ranks for specific jobs.

Our fix

A plan for one focused page per main service and town, in priority order.

The problem

The Google profile and the website list different services, phones or service areas.

Our fix

A short list of edits so the site, the profile and the listings all match.

The problem

Nobody knows which pages bring calls, because nothing is tracked.

Our fix

Call and form tracking set up first, so every fix after the audit can be measured.

How we measure success

Four numbers. Every month.

The audit ends with a ranked fix list and a walkthrough call. If you want us to do the work, we track calls and forms from day one so you can see what each fix brought. If you'd rather do it in-house, the report is written so any developer can follow it.

☎

Calls

Tracked numbers on your site, profile and ads, with source, duration and recordings, so you can see which calls became jobs.

✉

Forms

Every quote request and booking form, tagged by the page and the search that brought it in.

⌖

Map rank per area

A grid of ranking points across your service area, so you see the towns where you win and the ones still missing.

$

Cost per lead

What you spend divided by real leads, by channel. The number that tells you where the next dollar goes.

Related services

After the audit, the fixes.

Most audits lead to work in one or more of these areas. You can hand the fix list to anyone, or have us do it.

Something else on your mind? Send a message and we'll reply within one business day.

What's the difference between the free site check and the full SEO audit?

The free site check is a quick look at your site and Google profile with the three biggest problems we see. The full audit covers 120+ checks across the site, profile, listings and competitors, and ends with a complete ranked fix list and a walkthrough call.

How long does an SEO audit take?

Usually five to ten business days, depending on how many pages and locations you have. You get the report, a fix list sorted by impact and effort, and a walkthrough call. We need read access to Google Search Console and Analytics if you have them; if not, we can still run most of the checks.

How much does an SEO audit cost?

It depends on the size of the site and how many locations you serve. After the free site check you get a written quote. Our SEO cost guide explains what drives the price of SEO work in general.

Do I have to hire you to fix the problems?

No. The report is yours, and it's written so your own developer or another agency can follow it. Many clients do the quick fixes in-house and hand us the bigger ones.

What do you need from me?

Your website address, the services and towns you want calls from, and access to Search Console, Analytics and your Google Business Profile if you have them. A 20-minute call at the start helps us focus on the work you actually want.

Will the audit check my Google Maps ranking?

Yes. We compare your Google Business Profile with the top three businesses on Maps for your main searches, and check how you show up across your service area.

How often should I get an SEO audit?

A full audit makes sense before starting SEO, before a redesign, or if calls from Google drop. After that, a lighter check every six to twelve months catches new problems early.
