Example project · Roofing Example · not a specific client

A busy team, pointed at the right work

Example: a roofing company had an in-house marketer posting blogs every week, but calls from Google were flat. The review showed the main service pages were thin, the Google Business Profile had the wrong primary category and storm-season pages went live too late. We wrote a 90-day plan, reviewed the marketer's work every two weeks, and the same hours went into the pages that bring jobs.

Who consulting is for

When you have hands for the work, but need the direction.

Not every contractor needs a full agency. Consulting fits when someone is already doing the work, or when you want to make better decisions about who does it.

01

You have an in-house marketer

They're busy, but nobody is checking whether the work is the right work for a local service business.

What we do: a clear plan, regular reviews of their work and answers when they're stuck.

02

You're paying an agency and unsure

Reports look busy, but calls aren't growing and you can't tell what you're paying for.

What we do: an independent review of the agency's work, reports and contract, with plain questions to ask them.

03

You want to do it yourself

You're hands-on and willing to learn, but you don't know which of the hundred SEO tips actually matter for your trade.

What we do: a short list of the tasks that move calls, in order, with guidance as you go.

What's included

Senior advice, written down and in order.

Every engagement starts with a review and a written plan. After that, you choose how much ongoing support you want.

What usually goes wrong

The SEO mistakes we see most.

Most of these come from good intentions and generic advice that doesn't fit a local service business.

The problem

Weekly blog posts on general topics while the main service pages stay thin.

Our fix

Service and town pages fixed first; guides written only where they help those pages.

The problem

Paying for an agency report full of rankings for keywords nobody calls about.

Our fix

Tracking based on calls, forms and the searches that bring jobs, with the agency held to them.

The problem

Every new idea gets tried at once, and nothing gets finished.

Our fix

A short plan in priority order, with one owner per task and a review every few weeks.

The problem

The Google Business Profile was set up years ago and never touched.

Our fix

Categories, services, photos and review requests fixed, as one of the first tasks on the plan.

How we measure success

Four numbers. Every month.

Each plan sets a few simple measures from the start: calls and forms from Google, map and search visibility for your main services, and progress on each task. We review them on every call, so you always know whether the plan is working and what to change.

☎

Calls

Tracked numbers on your site, profile and ads, with source, duration and recordings, so you can see which calls became jobs.

✉

Forms

Every quote request and booking form, tagged by the page and the search that brought it in.

⌖

Map rank per area

A grid of ranking points across your service area, so you see the towns where you win and the ones still missing.

$

Cost per lead

What you spend divided by real leads, by channel. The number that tells you where the next dollar goes.

Questions

SEO consulting questions.

Something else on your mind? Send a message and we'll reply within one business day.

What's the difference between SEO consulting and SEO services?

With consulting, we review, plan, advise and check the work, and your team, designer or agency carries it out. With our SEO services, we do the work ourselves. Many clients start with consulting and move to full service later, or the other way around.

Who will I talk to?

David, the founder, who does the review and writes the plan. You won't be handed to a junior account manager.

How is consulting different from an SEO audit?

An audit is a one-time, detailed report of problems and fixes. Consulting includes a review and plan, then ongoing guidance as the work is done, so the plan adjusts to what actually happens.

Can you review the agency I'm working with?

Yes. We'll look at their reports, the work on your site and your contract, and give you a straight view of what's working, what isn't and what to ask them. We won't pitch to replace them unless you ask.

Do I need a long contract?

No. The review and plan are a single piece of work. Ongoing calls run month to month, and you can stop any time.

What do you need from me to start?

Access to your website, Google Business Profile, Search Console and Analytics, plus a short call about your services, your best jobs and the areas you want to grow in. Everything stays in your name.

Is consulting right for a small one-truck business?

It can be, especially if you're willing to do some of the work yourself. The plan focuses on the few tasks that matter most, so it fits a small team.
