Chimney sweep marketing

Chimney sweep marketing that books inspections.

Most homeowners only think about their chimney when it smokes, smells or fails a home inspection. We build the website, Google Maps profile and ads that put your company in front of them at that moment, and we turn the slow months into booked sweeps and inspections.

  • Google Maps profile set up for sweeps, inspections, caps and liners
  • A fast website with a page for every service you actually sell
  • Google Ads and Local Services Ads tuned to your season and service area
  • Call tracking, so you see which jobs came from where

Filling the spring and summer schedule for a two-truck sweep

This is an illustrative example of how we approach a chimney company. A two-truck sweep in a suburban county was busy from October to January and quiet the rest of the year. We rebuilt the site around inspections, liners and caps, cleaned up the Google profile, and ran a small search campaign for real estate inspections and leak repairs in the off season. The goal was steadier weeks, not a bigger peak.

How we think about it

Three ideas behind chimney sweep marketing

Chimney work is seasonal, safety driven and often sold by trust. A homeowner is letting you onto their roof and into their living room. Your marketing has to look careful and local before it looks clever.

01

Sell the inspection, not just the sweep

A sweep is a small ticket that customers shop on price. An inspection is where you find cracked flue tiles, missing caps, failed crowns and water damage. Those findings lead to the liners, rebuilds and waterproofing that keep a crew busy. A page and an ad that explain what a Level 1 and Level 2 inspection include will bring in better calls than another coupon for a cheap sweep.

What we do: We build a clear inspection page with what you check, what the customer gets after the visit, and how photos or camera footage are shared. We point ads and the Google profile at that page, and we track how many inspections turn into repair work.

02

Plan around the season

Your phone rings hardest in the fall, when the first cold night hits and everyone lights a fire at once. By then your schedule is full and extra ad spend just creates calls you cannot take. The months that need help are spring and summer, when people sell homes, notice leaks and have time to fix things before winter.

What we do: We shift budget across the year. In peak months we hold ads back and protect the schedule. In slow months we push inspections for home sales, leak repairs, caps, crowns and dryer vent cleaning if you offer it, so the work spreads out.

03

Look like the careful company

People worry about soot on the carpet, a stranger on the roof and an upsell they cannot judge. Reviews that mention clean work, real photos of your crew and plain answers about what happens during a visit do more for you than any slogan. Certifications such as CSIA only help if customers can see them.

What we do: We put real photos, your certifications, insurance and a short visit walkthrough on the site and the Google profile. We set up a simple review request after each job so new reviews keep coming in, and we reply to reviews with you if you want help.

What's included

Everything a chimney company needs to get found

You get one team for the site, the map listing, the ads and the reporting. Every account is opened in your name, so you keep it all if you ever leave.

⚑

Google Maps profile

The map pack is where most local chimney calls start. We set the right primary and secondary categories, write service descriptions for sweeps, inspections, caps, liners and masonry, set your real service area, and post updates and photos every month so the profile stays active.

  • Categories and services set up correctly
  • Monthly photos and posts
  • Review request flow after each job
▢

Website built for calls

A fast site with a page for each service and each main town you cover. Each page answers the questions customers ask on the phone, shows your phone number at the top, and has a short form for people who would rather book online after hours.

  • Service pages for sweeps, inspections, liners, caps, crowns
  • Town pages for your main areas
  • Click to call on every page
▲

Google Ads and LSA

Search ads for people who are ready to book, plus Local Services Ads if you qualify for the Google Guaranteed badge. We block searches for DIY tips, jobs and free advice, and we turn spending up or down with the season.

  • Inspection and repair campaigns
  • Negative keywords kept up to date
  • Seasonal budget plan
☎

Call tracking

Every call from the site, the map profile and the ads goes through a tracking number that forwards to your phone. You can listen to calls, see which ones booked, and stop paying for sources that only bring price shoppers.

  • Separate number per source
  • Call recordings if you want them

Local SEO content

Short, useful articles that answer what homeowners search before they call: how often to sweep, what creosote is, why a chimney leaks when it rains, and what a home sale inspection covers. Each one links back to the matching service page.

  • Two to four pieces a month, written for your area
☰

A plain monthly report

One page each month: calls, form leads, booked jobs where you track them, map grid positions and ad spend. We add a short note on what we changed and what we plan next, and we talk it through on a call if you want.

  • Calls and leads by source
  • 25-point map grid
  • Next month's plan
What usually goes wrong

Common problems we fix first

These are the issues we see most on chimney company websites and Google profiles. Most of them are quick to fix and cost nothing extra to keep fixed.

The problem

One page lists every service, so Google cannot tell what you do best and customers cannot find the inspection details they want.

Our fix

We split services into their own pages with clear titles, real photos, what is included, and a call button near the top.

The problem

The Google profile uses a broad category, has old photos and gets one review a year.

Our fix

We set the right categories, add current crew and job photos, and start a simple review request after every visit.

The problem

Ads run at the same budget all year, so you pay for calls in October that you cannot take.

Our fix

We build a seasonal plan that pulls spending back in peak months and pushes inspections and repairs when the schedule is open.

The problem

Nobody knows which calls came from the website, the map listing or the ads.

Our fix

We add tracking numbers per source and a monthly report that shows calls and leads next to what each source cost.

How we measure success

Four numbers. Every month.

For a chimney company we watch calls, booked inspections and map positions across your service area every month, and we compare the slow season to the same months last year.

☎

Calls

Tracked numbers on your site, profile and ads, with source, duration and recordings, so you can see which calls became jobs.

✉

Forms

Every quote request and booking form, tagged by the page and the search that brought it in.

⌖

Map rank per area

A grid of ranking points across your service area, so you see the towns where you win and the ones still missing.

$

Cost per lead

What you spend divided by real leads, by channel. The number that tells you where the next dollar goes.

Trades we work with

Other home-service trades

We work with one company per trade in each service area. These are some of the other trades we build for.

Questions

Chimney sweep marketing questions

Something else on your mind? Send a message and we'll reply within one business day.

How much does it cost?

It depends on your trade, how much competition there is in your area and how many services you want to promote. A one-truck sweep in a small town needs less than a full masonry and liner company in a big metro. We look at your site, profile and market in the free check, then give you a written number. The first 3 months are a fixed start period, and after that it is month to month.

How long until I see more calls?

Fixes to your Google profile and website can show up in a few weeks. Ads can bring calls in the first week once they are approved. Ranking higher on Maps in competitive towns usually takes a few months of steady work. We show you the map grid each month so you can see movement instead of guessing.

Do you work with other chimney companies near me?

No. We take one chimney client per service area. If we already work with a company that covers your towns, we will tell you during the free check and will not take the project.

Should I run Local Services Ads or regular Google Ads?

Often both. Local Services Ads charge per lead and show the Google Guaranteed badge, which helps with trust. Regular search ads give more control over which services and towns you pay for. We look at what is available in your category and area and start with the one that fits your budget.

Will I own the website and the accounts?

Yes. The domain, the website, the Google profile, the ads account and the tracking are all set up in your name. We get access as managers. If you stop working with us, everything stays with you.

Can you help me get more work in spring and summer?

That is usually the main goal. We focus slow season effort on inspections for home sales, leak repairs, caps, crowns, liners and waterproofing. These are jobs people will book when it is warm, and they often lead to bigger repair tickets.

What do you need from me to start?

Access to your current website and Google profile if you have them, a list of the services and towns you want, some photos of your crew and work, and about an hour of your time in the first two weeks. After that we need a few minutes a month to review the report and approve changes.
