SEO content writing for contractors

Content that ranks, then makes the phone ring.

Most contractor blogs are full of generic posts that nobody reads and Google ignores. We plan and write service pages, town pages and guides around what your customers actually search, in your voice and with your real jobs, so each page has a job: bring in calls for the work you want more of.

  • A content plan built from real searches in your trade and towns
  • Service and town pages written before blog posts
  • Your jobs, photos and know-how in every page, not filler
  • Old pages refreshed and linked so they keep ranking

From 80 blog posts to pages that bring work

Example: a roofing company had paid for 80 short blog posts over two years and still got almost no calls from its website. Its service pages were thin and it had no town pages. We merged and removed the weak posts, rewrote the main service pages with real job photos and answers, added pages for the towns it wanted more work in, and wrote a few strong cost and storm-damage guides. Calls from organic search grew steadily over the next eight months.

What makes contractor content work

More posts isn't the plan. The right pages are.

Publishing every week doesn't help if the pages target searches nobody makes or that never turn into calls. Three things decide whether content pays off.

01

Start with money pages

Service and town pages match people who are ready to call. Guides and blog posts help, but they come after the pages that bring jobs.

What we do: a content plan that fixes and builds service and town pages first, then adds guides that support them.

02

Real expertise, not filler

Google and homeowners both reward pages that show you've done the work: real photos, real answers, local details and honest costs and timelines.

What we do: short interviews with you or your team, so pages carry your know-how and voice.

03

Keep pages alive

Pages that once ranked slip as competitors update theirs and AI answers take the simple questions. Old content needs care, not just new content.

What we do: regular refreshes, merging weak pages and adding internal links to the pages that matter.

What usually goes wrong

Why most contractor content never brings a call.

These are the problems we find most when a business pays for content but doesn't see the phone ring.

The problem

Lots of blog posts, but thin service pages and no town pages.

Our fix

Service and town pages built first, then guides that support them.

The problem

Generic posts that could be on any website in any city.

Our fix

Pages built from your jobs, photos, team and local details.

The problem

Several posts target the same search and compete with each other.

Our fix

Weak and overlapping posts merged into one strong page.

The problem

Pages were written once and never touched again.

Our fix

A refresh schedule for the pages that matter most.

How we measure success

Four numbers. Every month.

We track rankings, visits, calls and forms for every page we write or rewrite. You see which pages bring work, which need more help, and what we'll write next, in a short report every month.

☎

Calls

Tracked numbers on your site, profile and ads, with source, duration and recordings, so you can see which calls became jobs.

✉

Forms

Every quote request and booking form, tagged by the page and the search that brought it in.

⌖

Map rank per area

A grid of ranking points across your service area, so you see the towns where you win and the ones still missing.

$

Cost per lead

What you spend divided by real leads, by channel. The number that tells you where the next dollar goes.

Questions

SEO content questions.

Something else on your mind? Send a message and we'll reply within one business day.

What is SEO content writing?

It's writing website pages so they show up on Google for the searches your customers make and turn visitors into calls. For contractors that mostly means service pages, town pages and helpful guides, not a stream of blog posts.

Do contractors really need a blog?

Not in the usual sense. Service and town pages matter more. A few strong guides, like costs or warning signs, help support those pages and answer questions homeowners ask Google and AI tools.

Do you use AI to write the content?

We may use AI tools to speed up research and drafts, but every page is planned, edited and checked by a person, and built around your real jobs, photos and know-how. Generic AI text doesn't rank well or convince homeowners.

How much of my time does it take?

Usually a short call each month and a few job photos. We ask the questions, write the pages and send them to you to check before they go live.

How many pages do I need?

It depends on how many services and towns you want to win. A small business might need a dozen strong pages; a larger one many more. We'd rather write fewer pages that bring calls than many that don't.

What happens to my old blog posts?

We keep the ones that work, improve the ones that could, and merge or redirect weak ones. Nothing is deleted without a redirect, so you don't lose any value.

How long until new content brings calls?

Rewritten service pages on an established site can improve within weeks. New pages usually take three to six months to rank well, depending on your area and competition.
